Student Research Symposium

  • 20 North Coalter Street Staunton, VA, 24401 (map)

The Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and Museum hosted the Historical Research class on eight separate occasions throughout the school year leading up to the Symposium. During these visits, the students had the opportunity to go deeper into specific topics of the Wilsonian era, including the election of 1912, women’s suffrage and racial issues, World War I, and the Treaty of Versailles. In addition, students also learned first-hand about archival preservation, archival research, museum operations (both day-to-day and long term), and related careers. Finally, students had the opportunity to go “behind the scenes” and view archival material and artifacts not accessible to the public.
