Peggy Dillard
Librarian/Archivist
Peggy Dillard is the Interim Librarian/Archivist for the WWPL. She has worked in the archival field for over twenty-five years. Professional positions she has held include Special Collections Manager at the Galveston & Texas History Center in Galveston, Texas, Director of Library & Archives at the WWPL from 2009 – 2013, Archivist at the George C. Marshall Research Library on the VMI campus in Lexington, Processing Archivist at the Augusta County Courthouse, and Associate Editor of the Papers of Jefferson Davis at Rice University in Houston, Texas.
She obtained her BA in History from the University of Georgia, her MA in History from James Madison University, and her MS in Information Science from the University of Tennessee. She is also a member of the Academy of Certified Archivists.
Peggy also serves as a consultant in archives, writing, and editing and is currently researching and writing a revised history for Cook’s Creek Presbyterian Church in Harrisonburg to be published by Lot’s Wife Publishing. She also serves on the board of the Augusta County Historical Society.
Peggy lives in Churchville with her husband and has two grown children, one living in Texas and the other living in Berlin, Germany. They enjoy traveling, bicycling, and visiting local wineries.
